Kentucky Derby Party Milwaukee 2017 – Doggie Derby Patio Party

Rivalry is throwing the Best and most fun Kentucky Derby Party in Downtown Milwaukee for 2017.  Why is it going to be the most fun and the best in Milwaukee?  Well, because we are getting the puppies involved, and let’s face it, everything is more fun when cute, adorable puppies are involved.

We all know that the Kentucky Derby has always been a day for people to get dressed up in big hats and fancy attire.  So, why should we not do the same for our furry little friends?  Let’s get everyone dressed up, including Fido, and celebrate the tradition known as the Kentucky Derby on the Riverwalk patio in Third Ward Milwaukee.

Date: Saturday, May 6, 2017

Time: 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM (if you want to party longer we are totally fine with that :))

Additional Information: 

Dress your puppies up and bring them down to the River walk in the Third Ward of downtown Milwaukee.  Rivalry will have the beautiful riverfront patio open and the Kentucky Derby on the tube.

The Parent/Pup combination that is voted “Most Adorable” will be crowned the victor and win a $250 gift card to be used at Rivalry.

Contest voting ends at 4pm sharp with the winner being announced at 4:30 PM.  The Kentucky Derby race starts at 5:24 PM

Fun Facts about the Kentucky Derby so you can impress your friends with your infinite wisdom:

  1. Mint Julep – this is the traditional drink that is popular at the Derby.  Some say it is a waste of good whiskey.  We say let’s Drink!
  2. 13 of the 15 total jockeys in the first ever Derby were African-American
  3. Milwaukee’s own Hank Aaron trained Northern Wolf and they finished 6th in the 1989 Derby
  4. 8 times in history the margin of victory was only a NOS
